Notice to All Landlords and Gas Safety Contractors

Two new technical documents have been revised and updated as follows:

• Gas industry unsafe situations procedure – IGEM/G/11 Edition 2 with amendments July 2022 and June 2024 Communication 1887, is now available on the IGEM Website.
• Technical Bulletin TB055 – Duties of Landlords Issued 24th June 2024, is available through Gas Safe Register.

All amendments from June 2024, within the GIUSP are shown throughout the document using these symbols >><<

Landlord’s need to note the updates made in TB 055 which cover revised guidance for:

• The application of Regulation 36 in hotel rooms used for residential purposes.
• The equipment covered by Regulation 36 and responsibilities around tenant owned appliances.
• How to appropriately record the results of the visual risk assessment of tenant owned appliances on LGSRs (where contractual duties stipulate they should be recorded).
